Industrial Pretreatment Program

The Industrial Pre-FOG Opens in new windowtreatment Program in the City of Pasco implements the Federal Pre-treatment regulations described in 40 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 403.8(a) established under the auspices of the Clean Water Act. The City implements the Clean Water Act requirements to control pollutants in wastewater from industrial facilities before they reach the wastewater treatment facility.

The City of Pasco’s Pretreatment Wastewater Reuse Facility (PWRF) currently receives process wastewater from four food processors; no sanitary wastewater is discharged into the PWRF system. All the food processors discharging to PWRF fall under the Industrial Pretreatment Program. Ecology issued an Administrative Order to the City on January 5, 2014, that delegates pretreatment permitting authority that became effective January 15, 2015.
