Field Operations Division

Division Responsibilities

Field Operations is the most visible members of our Police Department. They serve the public 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and are usually referred to as the “first responders.” The primary mission of the Field Operations Division is to reduce criminal activity and increase the quality of life for the Pasco community we serve. Field Operations is the backbone of the police department and are the most visible. Whether it is an emergency call for service, a traffic collision, or just a member of the public coming into the Police Department for information or assistance, someone from the Field Operations Division will most likely be the first person our community will encounter.

About the Division

The Field Operations Division consists of Patrol Officers, Area Resource Officers, and School Resource Officers. Included in these three groups are the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Team, Canine Unit, Homeless Liaison Unit, and Traffic Unit.

The Field Operations Division continues to provide the most highly trained and well-equipped professionals who effectively handle all requests for service to our community. The effectiveness of these first responders and their support staff is greatly enhanced by state-of-the-art equipment provided to assist them in getting the job done. Because of our high-quality personnel, we are able to provide competent, effective, and caring service to our community.

Developing Community Partnerships

Our officers strive to provide unparalleled police service. They accomplish this by following a community-oriented policing philosophy that is based on partnerships with our community to provide a safer and better quality of life while reducing the fear of crime. Officers work closely with the community to build on those partnerships and maintain the highest level of trust.

All officers are assigned a shift and area of the city on a yearly basis, which allows for the opportunity to work with the citizens in their area to address particular concerns.
