Temporary Speed Limit Reduction on Eastbound I-182 near Broadmoor Interchange

Beginning February 15, motorists traveling eastbound on Interstate 182 (I-182) near the Broadmoor interchange in Pasco will encounter a temporary speed limit reduction as part of ongoing infrastructure enhancements.

For approximately 12 weeks, a variable work zone speed limit will be set at 55 miles per hour. Additionally, starting on February 20, motorists can expect a reduction in lane widths. These adjustments are strategically designed to support the forthcoming phase of the project, which involves finalizing the tie-in connection to the newly constructed loop off-ramp from I-182 to Broadmoor Street.

Ensuring the safety and efficiency of commuters and construction crews throughout the project's progression is paramount. Motorists are strongly encouraged to exercise caution, adhere to posted signage, and remain vigilant of changing roadway conditions.

The City of Pasco, in collaboration with its contracted construction team, is implementing these adjustments to facilitate the advancement of the I-182/Broadmoor Intersection Project. This initiative aims to enhance connectivity and traffic flow within the region.

Significant progress has already been made, with the excavation and initial grading of the new loop off-ramp under the Broadmoor/Road 100 Bridge completed. Preparation for asphalt paving is underway, and electrical contractors are actively installing conduits for onsite illumination. The target completion date for the project is late November.

The City of Pasco remains dedicated to enhancing transportation infrastructure to better serve the community and improve overall travel experiences for residents and visitors alike.
