[ARCHIVED] Jesse Rice Named New Director of Pasco's Parks & Recreation Department

JesseRice

The City of Pasco is delighted to announce the appointment of Jesse Rice as the Director of the newly rebranded Parks & Recreation Department, effective immediately. Rice has served as part of the City's Technology Department for over 25 years, including Information Technology Director. In April 2023, he was appointed Interim Administrative & Community Services (A&CS) Director.

City Manager Adam Lincoln expressed his enthusiasm for the appointment, stating, "Jesse brings a unique combination of drive and innovation to the Parks & Recreation Department. His longstanding dedication to public service and his vision for community engagement make him an exceptional fit for this role." With Jesse Rice's transition to his new role, the City of Pasco plans to recruit a new Information Technology Director in the coming year. The recruitment process is slated to begin in early 2024, and further details will be provided at that time.

This appointment coincides with renaming the former Administrative & Community Services Department to the Parks & Recreation Department. This change aims to more accurately reflect the department's key functions, which encompass Park Management, Recreational Programming, Facilities Management, the Tri-Cities Animal Shelter, and several Downtown Pasco initiatives, including the Pasco Specialty Kitchen and the Farmers Market.
