[ARCHIVED] City of Pasco Appoints Sara Matzen as New Human Resources Director

The City of Pasco is pleased to announce Sara Matzen as its new Human Resources Director, effective October 30. Ms. Matzen was selected through a competitive executive search conducted by Prothman. She joined the City of Pasco from Grant PUD, where she was responsible for employee and labor relations and compensation for over 800 employees. 

"Sara brings a wealth of experience in both the public and private sectors," said City Manager Adam Lincoln. "Her leadership in employee and labor relations, payroll and compensation, benefits, organizational development, and labor law will be invaluable as we continue to build high-performing teams across the City." 

Matzen, a Pasco resident, is committed to leveraging her extensive knowledge to foster partnerships within the organization. She has implemented a successful HR Business Partner model to provide measurable value to each business stakeholder within Grant PUD. Matzen holds an MBA and is nearing completion to become a Certified Labor Relations Professional through the National Public Employers Labor Relations Association (PELRA). She is also an incoming board member of the Washington State Chapter of PELRA.
