City Council Chambers

The Pasco City Council is seeking registered voters in City Council District 3 to apply for the vacancy on Council after the resignation of Councilmember Nikki Torres.

The City Council intends to fill the vacancy by appointment of a resident (and registered voter) of Council District 3 at the July 11 Council Meeting. The current term of the District 3 seat expires December 31, 2025; however, per state law, the selected applicant would have to stand for election in the 2023 General Election to fill out the rest of the term.

Any adult resident and registered voter of District 3 (see map here) may seek appointment by filing a completed application, as outlined below, at the City Clerk’s office or online here at www.pasco-wa.gov/councilapplication by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, June 27, for consideration of the City Council:

  • City of Pasco “City Council Application”
  • Personal resume
  • Cover letter explaining why you are seeking appointment to the City Council and any other information you feel pertinent for Council consideration

Following the application deadline, the City Council will select the finalists and invite them to participate in the interview process; those selected for an interview will be notified of the interview arrangements. Interviews will be conducted at the July 11 meeting of the City Council, which are open to the public and media.

Please note that any information contained in applications or supporting documents for City Council appointment will be considered public information and subject to release. You may obtain the required application form from the City’s website at www.pasco-wa.gov/councilapplication or by calling the City Clerk’s office at (509) 543-5770.
