[ARCHIVED] City Distributes Water Bottles During Heat

WeatherStory2

The City of Pasco is distributing free water bottles in Volunteer Park to help the public during the Excessive Heat Warning over the next several days.

Thanks to a generous donation of 1,000 16 ounce water bottles from Paradise Water, the City’s Facilities Division has set up a self-serve water bottle filling station in Volunteer Park with complimentary water bottles.  Facilities will also ensure available water fountains in all City parks are running for public use.

With the prospect of triple-digit to near-record temperature highs over the next several days, the City wanted to help members of the public stay hydrated.

“We hope all those who need water during this heat take advantage of the free water bottles,” said City Manager Dave Zabell. “My thanks to Paradise Water for the donation and helping the Pasco community,” he added.

The attached graphic from the National Weather Service’s office in Pendleton has some tips on staying safe and healthy during this heat.

The City of Pasco strives to continue improving the quality of community life in Pasco.
