[ARCHIVED] City of Pasco Comprehensive Plan – Draft Environment Impact Statement

Planning

The City of Pasco is in the process of updating the Comprehensive Plan. The Comprehensive Plan is a statement of goals and policies that outlines the community’s vision for the next 20 years. The Plan guides City decisions on where to locate new jobs and build housing, improve the transportation system, and make capital investments such as animal shelters, libraries, sidewalks, and utilities.

Pasco has grown rapidly in the last 25 years, and by the year 2038, Pasco is forecasted to be home to over 120,000 people. The Plan considers population and employment growth and how public facilities and services will be provided to accommodate that growth.

A Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) for the Comprehensive Plan has been prepared and is now available for public comment at www.pasco-wa.gov/compplan. The public comment period is open now until June 15.

The Draft Environmental Impact Statement covers three proposed Urban Growth Area proposals and mitigation efforts to meet the goals of the Washington State Growth Management Act.

For more information, contact the Community & Economic Development Department at 545-3441.

The City of Pasco strives to continue improving the quality of community life in Pasco.
