5K 101 Presentation-  Do you want to run a 5K? If you haven't run before or perhaps you think you can't, we'll show you how to get started, give you training tips, and teach you how to stay motivated. Discussion topics include: Bio-Mechanics, Injury Prevention, and Running Form. LAMPSON CABLE BRIDGE RUN 2017 – EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION OPEN! Early bird Registration is open for the 2017 Lampson Cable Bridge Run. This year you can choose between a long sleeve regular cotton shirt or a long sleeve technical t-shirt for an additional fee. TREE PLANTING CEREMONY: Join us as we plant a Heritage Tree in Volunteer Park preparing for Pasco Winter Fest and tree lighting. This Giant Sequoia will be lit up yearly for years to come. DAY/DATE/TIME: Friday, October 20, 1pm; LOCATION: Volunteer Park, 1125 N 4th Ave, Pasco; FREE TO ALL

Sweetest Daddy/Daughter Prom: Dads, Step-Dads, Grandpas or Uncles.  You are invited to bring your favorite girl (or girls) out for an evening of dancing, fun, and memories to last a lifetime!  Girls will receive a friendship bracelet, professional Photo and goody bag.  Space is limited so register early!  Sorry, no registrations will be taken at the door! Costume Hayride:  Cool breezes, orange pumpkins, and costumes all mean fall is in the air! Join us for a visit to the farm on a hayride with music, apple cider, and hot chocolate. All participants are encouraged to dress up - however, costumes are not required.  (Pumpkins may be purchased by participants. Pre-registration required.) ALL AGES;

KARATE –OCTOBER SESSION: Sign up now for a great learning experience in “Tae Kwon Do.” Learn the basic in hand, foot, and eye coordination. The instructors will focus on the importance of respect, discipline, and honor. Don’t miss this fun and exciting class as space is limited.   AGES: 6-12;

YOUTH VOLLEYBALL: This five week clinic is designed to provide a positive learning experience of the fundamentals of volleyball.  Use door off Sylvester Street side of building parking lot located at 525 N. 3rd Avenue. Fee includes program t-shirt.; AGES: 6-12; DAY/DATES/TIME: Saturday, 10/14-11/18/17, 10:30am -12pm;    LOCATION: Pasco City Hall Activity Center;    FEE: $35R/$44NR;    CLASS #: F506

 

YOUTH BASKETBALL LEAGUE: This is a parent/volunteer sponsored program conducted by Pasco Recreation Services. It is designed to be a recreational outlet for youth to learn the fundamentals of basketball and incorporate these skills into game situations. Girls and Boys will play on separate teams which are formed according to geographical area and school grade (1st-6th grade). NO recruiting or “hand picking” allowed. Practices are held at various grade schools, no more than twice a week. After the coaches’ meeting, you will be notified of practice times and locations. Games are played on Saturdays in Pasco or Kennewick. Fee includes reversible jersey. Early registration deadline is October 31st. We will allow late registration until November 19th for an additional $10 fee. Coaches will begin calling players after Thanksgiving. AFTER SCHOOL DROP-IN PROGRAM – SCHOOL YEAR: The City Hall Activity Center is open year-round for structured sports and activities. - Adult Programs –           

 

5K 101-A Cable Bridge Run 5K Training Program: Go from being a couch potato to a 5K finisher with this 8 week training program!  If you haven't run before or perhaps you think you can't.  We'll show you how to get started, give you training tips, and teach you how to stay motivated; all while training for Pasco’s Lampson Cable Bridge Run 5K. Training will gradually increase your endurance and your fitness level while you receive coaching tips in a fun group setting. There will be a group workout on Saturday mornings and each participant will be given a workout plan to follow during the week.   Class fee includes training, registration for the 5K Cable Bridge Run held on Saturday, December 16th, and a customized Cable Bridge Run shirt. This class will accommodate a wide variety of fitness levels.  Children under 16 may participate with a parent/guardian that is registered for this course.

DROP-IN VOLLEYBALL: A fun, informal way for adults to participate in the sport of volleyball. Players will be randomly placed on teams. Come out and make some friends as you exercise and have fun at the same time. No one under 18 years of age allowed on site. AGES: Adults;   DAY/DATE/TIME: Thursdays, September 14-December 14, 7:00-9:30pm;    LOCATION: Mcloughlin Middle School;    FEE: $2 per person/per evening;

 

SEWING WITH MARCY: Whether you are a beginner or a more advanced student looking to improve your skills, this class will help you to become more accomplished in your sewing skills. Students must provide their own supplies and bring their own sewing machines to class. AGES: 18+;    DAYS/DATES/TIMES:  Mondays, September 18-December 18; 10am-2:30 pm;    LOCATION: City Hall Activity Center, 525 N. ENHANCE FITNESS: An exercise program designed for mature individuals, focusing on stretching, flexibility, balance, low impact aerobics and strength training. This class is held on Mondays, Wednesdays, & Fridays at the City Hall Activity Center Gym. You may pay the drop-in rate or sign up for a month at a time! WAVEMAKERS AQUA FIT: This warm water exercise program offered by Oasis Physical Therapy is the class you’ve been looking for. If you suffer from arthritis, low back pain, muscle weakness or other aliments then why not try this warm water course! Various session days and times available! FOOT CARE FOR ADULTS: This program is designed to provide preventative maintenance and education to Franklin County and Burbank residents who are 60 years of age and older. Care is provided by a Registered Nurse. If an abnormality is detected, you will be referred to your physician or other social services organization. Call 509 545-3459 to see if you qualify for this program.   AGES: 60 and older;    DAY/DATE/TIME: Day/Date/Time Vary Call for appointment days and times;    LOCATION: Pasco 1st Avenue Center;    FEE: Free! (Donation accepted);  NOTE: Funds for the Franklin County and Burbank Foot Care program are administered by Southeast Washington Aging and Long Term Care. Those that do not qualify for this program may choose to participate in our fee based program, call the Pasco Senior Center at 509 545-3459 for more info.

                                                                                             

- Senior Services -

AARP SMART DRIVER COURSE: This is the nation’s first and largest refresher course for drivers age 50 and older. It allows drivers over 50 to remain independent for many years to come. AGES: 50+; DAY/DATE/TIME: Tu, W, 11/7-11/8/17, 9am-1pm; LOCATION: City Hall Classroom 2, 525 N 3rd, Pasco;    FEE: $15 for AARP members (must show proof of membership)  $20 for non-memberCLASS #: F326

MEALS ON WHEELS LUNCHES: Enjoy a delicious lunch. Reservations are required 24 hours in advance and may be made by calling 509-543-5706. DAYS/TIME: Monday – Friday, 11:45am – 12:45pm; LOCATION: 1st Avenue Center, 505 N. 1st Ave., Pasco, WA; FEE: $7.30 per meal for ages 18-59, $2.75 suggested donation for ages 60+ .

HAPPY FEET - Free Foot Care (Donations Accepted)!: If you reside in Franklin County or Burbank and are over the age of 60 you might qualify for free foot care. (This program is funded by SE Washington Aging and Longer Term Care and Participant Donations). If you do not qualify for the HAPPY FEET Free Foot Care Program not to worry, we also have a Foot Care for Adults (Ages 18+) Program, Cost is $30.  For information on either program please call (509) 545-3459 for more information.
