[ARCHIVED] City Council Appoints Chi Flores to District 4 Seat

City Council Appoints Chi Flores to District 4 Seat

The City Council, at the October 24 Special Meeting, appointed Mr. Chi Flores to represent Council District 4.

The Council sought applicants from District 4 to fill the vacancy after the death of Councilmember Mike Garrison in late July. The outreach effort led to eleven district residents applying for the opening, of which, 5 were interviewed by Council at the October 19 Special Meeting.

“The Council had a tough choice, as all the candidates we interviewed brought excellent qualifications to the table,” said Pasco Mayor Matt Watkins. “However, Mr. Flores’ obvious commitment to the City was evident and he will make an excellent addition to the Council.”

Mr. Flores will be officially sworn in at the next Council meeting on Monday, November 7. Per State law and the Municipal Code, Flores will stand for election in 2017.
