[ARCHIVED] Industrial Pretreatment Program Open House

The City invites business owners and the public to the Industrial Pretreatment Program Open House, Wednesday, August 27th, 5:30pm to 7:30pm in Council Chambers in City Hall, 525 North 3rd Avenue.

The City of Pasco is currently developing an Industrial Pretreatment Program, as directed by the Washington State Department of Ecology, to support the City being delegated responsibility at the beginning of 2015. All businesses within the City’s boundaries will be subject to the Pretreatment Program. For most businesses, the only impact will be to periodically complete a required “Industrial User Screening” form. Businesses whose wastewater could potentially negatively affect the wastewater treatment plant may be subject to additional monitoring and may need to be permitted.

During the Open House, City staff will share how the Pretreatment Program may affect the public and businesses, the progress being made on developing the Pretreatment Program, the remaining steps the City must accomplish in order to be prepared for when Ecology delegates responsibility to the City, and future plans for operating the Pretreatment Program.

The public meeting will have a presentation followed by a question and answer session. The public and business owners are encouraged to attend and to bring their questions.
