[ARCHIVED] Memorial Park Improvements

The Kiwanis Club of Pasco will be holding a ceremony on Thursday, August 15, at 5:30pm in Memorial Park for the dedication of a new shelter constructed by the club. Representatives from the City of Pasco will be on hand to help celebrate this wonderful addition to Memorial Park.

The Kiwanis shelter is the first of many enhancements planned for Memorial Park. Starting next week, City crews will be removing the old play equipment and installing new play equipment which will be up to current ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) standards. New rubber surfacing around the equipment will be installed next, thanks to a $50,000 grant from Boundless Playgrounds.

In 2014, a new walking path throughout the park will be constructed for better accessibility and the walls of the large shelter in Memorial will be removed to open up that shelter for a more appealing experience for users.

These improvements will help maintain this valuable resource for Pasco citizens of all ages.

The City of Pasco strives to continue improving the quality of community life in Pasco.
