The City of Pasco is preparing a plan to set priorities and schedule for future improvements to sidewalks to meet the Americans with Disability Act (ADA). The public is invited to attend the Community Resource Team meeting on August 23, 2012 at 6:00 PM at Pasco City Hall Council Chambers (525 3rd Ave) or to submit comments in writing to the Public Works Department at PO Box 293, Pasco, WA 99301.
The plan includes an inspection of the sidewalks and intersection corners to see if they pose a barrier to persons with disabilities. The goal of the plan is to identify what locations have the highest need for improvements and, based on available funding, establish a schedule for sidewalk upgrades. These upgrades typically include construction of curb ramps or elimination of midblock obstructions.
For more information on the meeting, call Julie Valdez at 509-543-5738, or for more information on the Sidewalk ADA Transition Plan, call John Manix at 360-607-1854.
This is an important opportunity to share your insights and help direct the City’s future. We hope you will join us.
