[ARCHIVED] City Lifeguard Honored for Saving 3 Year Old

Christian Tenney, a lifeguard at the City's Memorial Pool, was honored at a ceremony during the City Council's August 15 meeting for helping save the life of three year old Eliana Pena at the pool on July 17.

Tenney performed CPR on Pena while other pool staff summoned help from the Pasco Fire Department. By the time paramedics arrived, Pena was breathing on her own and is doing fine. At the August 15 meeting, Tenney was presented a certificate for his actions, and was also honored by Pena's mother and family with a plaque and words of thanks.
