Building Permits
Do I Need A Permit For My Project?
Permits are required on most construction projects throughout the City of Pasco to ensure quality, safety and building code standards are met. Additionally, Yard Sales and Special Events require permits.
How to Apply for a Permit
- CHOOSE A PROJECT TYPE: Residential or Commercial.
- APPLY FOR A PERMIT & submit required plans & documentation.
- REVIEW PROCESS: Residential permits have a 10-business day review process. Commercial permits have a 20-business day review process. Commercial Projects requiring multiple reviews have a 30-business day review process.
- PERMIT APPROVED or DENIED.
- PAY PERMIT FEES.
- SCHEDULE A FINAL INSPECTION when the project is complete.
- PERMIT FINALED once the final inspection is passed.

- All electrical permitted work is handled by the Washington State Department of Labor & Industries.

Inspections are required on permitted construction throughout the City to ensure quality, safety and building code standards are met.

Business License Inspections
Business license inspections are required prior to the issuance of a City of Pasco business license or endorsement.
Fire Safety Inspections
Fire safety inspections are required for businesses & multi-family units. Moderate hazard occupancy businesses are required to have biennial fire safety inspections. High hazard occupancy businesses are required to have annual fire safety inspections.
