Yard of the Month

Pasco's Yard of the Month program has been ongoing since 1990 as recognition for residential property owners who take extra care and pride in maintaining their properties. In 2006, a commercial category was added. Volunteer judges review properties within a geographical district and nominate an outstanding property for each month from June through August.


Awards:


  • A Yard of the Month sign identifies the property (placed and removed by City staff).
  • A Proclamation certificate awarded by the Pasco City Council.
  • Property Photo, name and address published on Pasco Parks and Recreation's Facebook, Instagram and Twitter Pages.
  • Pictures of the winning yards will be displayed at City Hall and City website (click here to see pictures).

Judging Criteria:

Residential

  • Weed and disease free turf
  • Sidewalks edged
  • Yard mowed and trimmed
  • Flower beds free of weeds
  • Trees and shrubs pruned
  • Planting strip well maintained
  • Yard free of debris and trash
  • Code compliance

Business

  • Overall appearance
  • Cleanliness – facade, sidewalks, parking lot
  • Window displays, signage
  • Landscaping, as applicable
  • Code compliance
